Ahhh...The Art of The Picnic

Spring, spring, its a wonderful thing. And, what is my favorite thing to do in the spring? Pack up our NEW Insulated Cooler Market Basket with sandwiches, tortellini salad and micro-sodas and head to the park or the beach. A couple of ice packs in the bottom and a blanket on top and you are ready for the Boston Pops Concert, watching the FAGAWI Yacht Race or a regular day of fun and sun in the sand with your friends. In your choice of blue, pink or green bubble polkadots too!

A Farewell To Splashy...

We lost our little family goldfish "Splashy" over the weekend...(we got her LAST weekend, she lasted 5 days.) So, as per request by my daughter, this is an "Ode To Splashy"...please bow your heads.

A MEMORIAL DAY MEMORIAL TO SPLASHY
Splashy was a really good fish
Until my mom decided to clean her dish.
She was my new pet, you see.
Mom said, "Trust your baby to me!"
The job filled her with delight
But soon became a giant fright.
We fed her and loved her over the week.
But turns out her little heart was bleak.
We watched her not eating in her bowl.
That's when her stomach started to roll.
We watched her take her final breath
As she swam down to her death.
There was a silent hush
As we made the final flush.
When mom told me that she died
I bowed my little head and cried.

MEMORIAL DAY COSMOPOLITAN

Ingredients
1 part white cranberry juice
1 part berry vodka
1/2 part raspberry liqueur (recommended: Chambord)
1/2 part Limoncello

Directions
To a shaker full of ice, add all ingredients. Shake well and pour into chilled martini glasses. Enjoy by the parade in your lawn chair!

Heading Away for Memorial Day?

Ahhh...the annual rush to the Shore for Memorial Day weekend. What are you and yours doing? As usual, HH has his golf tournaments all weekend, the kids are off, and grandma and grandpa are begging to see them. Time for a trip to Connecticut for us!
